Regular readers of this blog and skeptics are probably familiar with junk emails appearing showing you've won lotteries from overseas like the one below. But I guess it bears worth repeating again to be careful and realize these are complete scams as well. Here's a verbatim copy of an email scam about me winning the lottery:

Jessica Barry Nigerian Scam

This is a scam but it rings closely as a Nigerian scam shown below. It's just classic Nigerian scam wanting you to part ways with your money to prove yourself worthy of getting a percent of some vast amount of money.

Below is the verbatim email:

Hello.

I am Jessica Barry the only daughter of late Mr. Wilson Barry and Mrs. Cynthia Barry. My father was a very wealthy cocoa merchant in Bulgaria , My mother died when I was a baby and since then my father took me so special before he was poisoned to death by his business associates on one of their outings on a business trip. Before the death of my father on January 16th 2008 in a private hospital in Bulgaria .

He secretly called me on his bed side and told me that he has the some very good amount of funds he deposited in his fixed escrow account in one of the leading offshore banks in Europe that he used my name as his only daughter for the next of Kin in depositing of the fund. He also explained to me that it was because of this wealth he has acquired, that was why he was poisoned by his business associates. That I should seek for a foreign partner in a country of my choice where I will transfer this money and use it for investment purpose such as real estate management or hotel management.

The email came in exactly as shown in bold below. It's still a fake job. I may reply to this one to find out more information but then again sometimes it's best to show it on the blog.

Here's the verbatim email:

Here's another spammer or scammer looking for information about you. I posted something about someone who did this to me before. This guy or person or spammer is new to the field. Robert Paulo.

However with an amazing email address of rtasalazarrogue@gmail.com when you click on reply it just seems like yet another scam waiting to happen. The email address has nothing to do with the name of the person who replied to me.

Just a scam in my view.

I'm not sure if I should go into a collection of Nigerian email scams but this one just sounded too good not to post on the blog.

Let's read from this guy as always, exactly as it was sent to my email:

Dr. Stan Ngobe as Executive Director of the Mzantsi Africa Charitable Foundation Email Scam Confirmed

Well, I'm firmly convinced Dr. Stan Ngobe as Executive Director of the Mzantsi Africa Charitable Foundation is a scam as well.

I replied back to him the same day with my email address asking more questions regarding the efforts of the organization without any replies on even basic questions.

Note also the name of the contact, Dr. Stan Ngobe is a different reply email than what you would think he'd have for the full email below.

I asked him (or it) about a website, telephone number, exactly what his charity was doing, and how I could help.

No reply back whatsoever.

However I did receive another three emails back to my account from other official looking notices of winning the lottery in Nigeria and I simply needed to put up some money up front to validate who I am was the winning ticket holder.

Perhaps this is a way to farm email addresses and those who may write back with more of a charity interest in helping are routed to other individuals who use those emails to determine whether they are "worthy of a scam hit" or not.

All I know is to question everything and assume nothing is true.

Pretty much like this blog...check things out. Don't just believe me. Check it for yourself, draw your own conclusions and I hope it works out for you.

I'm not for sure this is a scam but it reads like a scam. I've replied back to see if I can find out any additional information before that determination. This is a first though...asking for donations from people instead of saying I've won a lottery or that my name was selected to help funnel money from a prince who can't get money moved around the country.

The fake job company Career Networks now has branched out to offer fake employment on an additional name...Gold Star Careers, located at the URL of http://www.goldstarcareers.com/. It's a carbon copy of the same front page of Career Networks contained in this blog elsewhere.

I just WISH there was some sort of recourse to shut these scammers down!!

Wujiang Wanlida Textitle Company Job Scam

Funny, no faster than I posted about Career Networks, another scam email about a scam job came in from China or allegedly China. You can never be too sure these days.

This one is a bit interesting because the company hiring needs you as an employee to have "a good credit rating with your bank. and may also have a line of credit (LOC) or equity line of credit with your bank. This is to boast our confidence in
you and to also ensure that the problems of funds misappropriation is
avoided."

That's sort of funny to me to say that about needing a good credit rating with your bank and a line of credit to boost confidence that I won't, as an employee divert funds for my own good.

And this desire for me having an excellent credit rating is supposed to make me feel better about a job with this scammer?

I am not sure I really do.

But I digress, here's the verbatim email I received:

Intake Representative Job Scam By Career Networks

Hey everyone, well, after a few months of relative quiet, Career Networks appears to be coming back again offering fake jobs to lure you in and then giving you information about how to further your college education.

This particular offer shown below comes from Mary Ashford, an HR manager with a company giving a convincing description of why this should be one I should apply for with their company.

She doesn't mention she won't return emails asking for more details about the job like its location.

No way, that would mean she or he or it would have to divulge more information that is of somewhat great benefit for job seekers.

I have read and posted comments from others about changing your email address to keep these types of emails from coming to a main account when you are job seeking but I've decided to keep the email the same and continue to document these types of job email scams.

I too am again looking for work after my last job fell through.

What is interesting is the person who emailed me is supposedly named Elena but she (or he) is sending the email from the header as green.eugene33@hotmail.com if you choose to reply to the email or eltekett@gmail.com if you wish to email her and not click on "reply".

Has anyone had any experience with these types of emails and replied out of curiosity? And if you did reply, what did you say and what else did you receive back by email?
