I just got that email. Thanks for posting about it, I was trying to figure out if it was real or not.

I live in Indianapolis,IN and i just got the same email about 2-3days ago!!!! thanks for posting this, because I was really puzzled by getting this scam email. Wow, just imagine how many people have really sent their information, not knowing that this is a scam. And probably more than half of them are really looking for work, just as I am, and this company is preying on them. So sad

Also received that email. What alerted me that this might be bogus was the reply to name was a jakie.bworn1973@hotmail.com and the from name was glenn@portlandvineyard.org.
Usually if this was a real company their emails would end with the company name such as abc@gtlsolutions.com

Sad that there are so many people trying to get something for nothing.

Thank you for posting this.

After the intial email, I received a response that was better written from another individual. After communicating with her for several days, I asked her why she used such a generic email address and she said it was her personal. I asked her for her business address and she sent me her name followed by the company website address. I honestly, just don't know.

Has any of you been told that you need to send them a copy of your dirver's license? I told thme I was not sending one. I reguested and received a copy of A SIGNED EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT. 2 AND 1/2 PAGES. All pages read like a true employment contract.Their home base is Chicago, ILL.Of course this could have stolen from the company. All my information is coming from Marilyn Stewart120@hotmail.com. She asked again for a copy of my driver's license. That is when I knew all of this is bogus.

I got a copy of this Email 21 Oct. They asked for a scanned copy of my driver's license - I replied no way, but please send info. They sent info, and bells went off when I couldn't tell what they wanted me to do. I Googled GTL Solutions, and found a very high tech and real chemical co., and bells REALLY went off. Then I found this blog. Thanks for a much needed public service.

That's the same email I received from Marilyn Stewart120@hotmail.com, got a copy of the contract. My only thing is why would they go through so much trouble with a website, contract, and everything. Seems strange, but relunctant to send my ID to someone I haven't spoken with on the phone. I have yet to speak with someone.

Keep me posted.

How does anyone KNOW that this is a scam? All I see are posts that say they received the e-mails. How has it been proven that the job is fraudulent?

Anonymous said...

To the one who asks for proof of the job...reply and ask for a contact number for the company or a company website...they can't provide something like that because it is not a real company offering real employment. Geez!!

Anonymous said...

I totally agree...I think the downturn of our economy is what is allowing more people to think these jobs are real. People are getting desperate. Thanks to the blog creator for keeping us updated on all the scams!

Anonymous said...

How does anyone know it's scam? I have not seen any evidence that supports a scam, it's like mob mentality or a domino effect. It seems to be base an email. I guess what I am saying show me proof, I to got the letter and the job. So far everything been fine. I am an employee. So what's your proof. I guess I will just have to wait for it, please comment I take your comments to my boss.

To anon above....geez what is wrong with you? Why would you not think it is a scam with the high salary for such little work and no clear company location...no website...you go ahead and lose money to the scam but don't blame us for calling a scam a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sibylle said...

I have the contract it is like 7 pages and it is in PDF, it has logo and all, the website is: http://www.globaltls.com
Every number about the company is a fax. I just sent the URL of the blog to the boss of the guy before my post. My contact is call Alison Carol. The "Clients" in the site are generic names that I found in another sites with similar comments, they dont ask you if you can work in the country, they don´t even ask for a resume because: A very important Internet job seeker gave them my information... WTF? Sad it is not true, would be nice, no?
Besides I dont have one single skill to do this kob and they say I am the best??

Ive been shipping packages for this company all this month and marilyn stewart contacted me also. Im thinking its a scam too because even though they didnt ask for any money I have yet to be paid for the packages Ive sent out. I still have 3 packages here. They email me prepaid shipping labels from the post office for the packages and Ive been sending them off thru the post office and they been accepting them so I thought it had to be legit. they got a copy of my drivers license but none of my other info. I have security on my credit so no one can use my name to purchase anything without going thru a security check which is a series of questions about my life that only I would know. they pay alot for postage too so i dont get wht their point is. theyre not charging me anything its costing them. Im refusing to send anymore packages until im paid.

Anonymous said...

Let us all know if you get paid before you send the packages, it,s weird that they have not asked for the packages back. I guess eBay them and get some money for your troubles. Keep us posted you are the first, to receive / ship packages. Good luck!

Anonymous said...

I wouldn't sell that merchandise on ebay otherwise you are dealing with merchandise bought using someone else's credit card. Just because you didn't get paid for the scam doesn't make it right to get paid that way...

Anonymous said...

I've been working there for 2 months, got paid after trial: salary and commissions for all proceeded packages. My manager explained to me that there is competitors scam, and individuals must be careful.. Trust me or not, GTLS is okay, got my money, continue working for them, I will post if smth goes wrong.

Just wanted to add, during application process I sent my DL, but I blacked out all important digits and dates. A.(her name starts with A, I dont think it will be professional to mention names here) told me that they only need it to prove my identity.

Anonymous said...

I just wanted to comment on the two above posted messages from "anonymous" that there is no way this job can be legitimate. He or she can't be getting paid for this line of work, nor did he or she really submit a copy of a drivers license for proving identity. It's just completely bogus. I don't see why the poster felt a need to give an impression this job is anything legitimate!!!!! Thanks for the blog comments and the originator of the blog!!

reddpuff@yahoo.com said...

it take roughly 2 days for a fraudlant credit card to contact the owner and the person who got the shipment if it was fraudulant you have a police officer at your door asking you questions and to return the merchandise you may want to read into the companies letter a little more carefully

I received a similar email today from someone with an email address ending in rapidld.com. When I looked up the company RapidLD, I found an education company, clearly no one who would need a "transportation manager."

I do have to say that one tip-off in the email was that they claim to pay all your taxes for you. Hmmmm...

Anyway, I just wanted to let people know that they seem to be constantly updating their approach. Stay smart!

I got an email like this from compassgeographics. When something seems too good to be true...it is. 10-12 hours a week and I make $1600? For transportation from my home? No way.

What also is a KEY identifier for me...this e-mail had grammar and spelling mistakes. No respectable company does that. Ever. And scanning your driver's license is NO way to prove your identity. You present it in person or it's not gonna fly. With fraud and technology the way it is, any company would respect that.

Thank you for posting this. Let's be there to educate and support people in these trying times.

I heard this is a stolen credit card info scam, where they buy stuff with stolen cards, use you as the mule, and you never hear from them again after you have sent off the stuff to the next destination.

I too received this email. And it has to be too good to be true. Like the others, I called the numbers on the Global TLS web site and got only fax numbers. I asked for reference numbers to call and have not heard back from them... surprise, surprise!!!

The first person to reruit me was a stefani@areafive.com (a phone co. in TX). When I replied, in went to kristewicks@hotmail!! Then, a month later, Jodie Barnes @globaltls finally responded. Her first email was titled, Hiring Manager. then she became, Personal Logistics Dep. Manager. I've never changed my titles overnight at any place I worked before.
Thanks for whoever started these so I was not a victim too.

The email that I got was from a RebeccaMullikin@globaltls.com, seems ligit right? Can anyone help with this, been shipping for them for one month now, only sent a copy of the drivers license no other info. I am awaiting a check and will advise on the outcome. I was reading all of the posts and all of them state odd email adresses and other HUGE triggers that raise a flag to fraud but this one does not. I have not given any money and I figured that really no harm where I have not invensted anything out of pocket...any other experiences?

I received this email recently on my phone. The emai l said they have my resume from an internet site. Allow me to call this out as a fraud, simply because, I do not have any resume anywhere. Also I am taking a technical writing, english 2800 , class that has to do with bussiness communication, and the way the email is presented and formated is laughable; there can be no way a multi million dollar company would have emails as poorly constructed as this email. Has the thought occured that perhaps this scam involves dooping unwitting people into shipping stolen, or illegal items? Perhaps this is why they do not ask for a credit card, and, perhaps the scam is not as simple as credit fraud; perhaps this is also why they may indeed actually ship packages to people. I am sorry for the poor format as I am typing on my phone.
